Gynecology

The medical specialty concerned with the health of the female reproductive organs and diseases throughout the various stages of a woman's life, from adolescence to post-menopausal care. A gynecologist specializes in the health and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive organs. Areas of focus may include infertility, both high and low risk pregnancy, sexualty issues including decreased libido, birth control, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, yeast infection, abnormal uterine bleeding, PMS, peri-menopause, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis, urinary incontinence, pessary treatment, pelvic organ prolapse, breast care, surgical needs, health and wellness, disease prevention, patient education and more. Internal Medicine

A medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. An internist's training focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of adults that include allergy and immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, hematology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, nephrology, oncology, pulmonology and rheumatology.

Midwifery

Midwifery is provided by an RN with advanced education and national certification. A midwife is trained to care for a woman before and during childbirth. Certified Nurse Midwives provide general obstetrical and gynecological care, with a primary focus on low risk obstetrics. If a risk develops during pregnancy, the nurse midwife consults with a physician. Additional services include preconception counseling, family planning services, annual pelvic and breast exams, sports physicals, Pap tests, screening and treatment for infections, ordering of lab tests and prescribing medication. Care is also provided for perimenopausal and menopausal women.

Nurse midwives focus on health wellness and encouraging women to make informed choices about their health care. They bring a very personalized, one-on-one approach, and an emphasis on health promotion, and patient education.

Obstetrics

The medical specialty of managing preconception, prenatal, childbirth and postpartum care, including management of postpartum depression or pregnancy loss. It includes treatment options for high-risk obstetrics due to diabetes, advanced maternal age, hypertension, vaginal birth after a Cesarean section (VBAC) or previous gynecological surgery). Pediatrics

The medical specialty concerned with the health of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatricians focus on growth and development, primary disease prevention, nutrition, learning, behavioral concerns and the opportunity for children to achieve full potential as adults.

Walk-In Services

For urgent but not life-threatening conditions, the West Bend Clinic (1700 W. Paradise Dr.) provides walk-in services every Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm. Walk-in service is also available at the Hartford Clinic (402 W. Sumner St.) on Saturdays from 8 am to noon. No appointment is necessary and new patients are welcome.
