Kewaskum Clinic announces the addition of family practice nurse practitioner Julie Parve, DNP-FNP-BC to its medical staff.
Parve holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), the highest level of nursing degree attainable by a nurse practitioner. A DNP is a Nurse Practitioner who has advanced beyond the master’s degree and has obtained a doctorate in nursing. A DNP receives advanced training to assess, diagnosis, treat, and monitor many conditions and diseases, and can also prescribe medication. They work independently and in collaboration with other primary care physicians and specialists.
Parve is trained to provide the full scope of family medicine for patients of all ages. Her special interests include childhood obesity, women’s health and travel medicine.
“I enjoy educating my patients regarding preventive care and understanding acute and chronic disease management,” said Parve. “I assist them in taking an active role in their care and keeping the lines of communication open and honest.”
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Marion College in Fond du Lac, and Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Nursing from Concordia University in Mequon. She is board certified as a family practice nurse practitioner and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
