Concussion management for athletes now available

The Concussion Management team includes:
ImPACT is a sophisticated computerized test that accurately detects sports-related concussions by comparing baseline results with testing conducted following a head injury. It is the program used by the NFL, NHL, MLB and many collegiate teams. Prior to the start of the season, athletes take a 20-minute baseline computer test to evaluate their neurocognitive state (brain processing speed, memory, and visual motor skills). Concussion awareness is important for children and adults
"A concussion does not mean a loss in consciousness. In a vast majority of concussions, the child or adult does not lose consciousness. Symptoms can include headache, dizziness, feeling nauseous, confusion, and memory problems. Even after injury, the person may feel sluggish, irritable, have trouble sleeping or struggle in school."

So how is a concussion treated?
Time and total rest, that means rest from video games and other sound and visual stimulation. You want that person to have mental rest as well as physical rest. The brain, just like an ankle sprain, needs time to heal.
