Women's Fair on Saturday, March 20

West Bend Clinic, St. Joseph's Hospital, and Community Memorial Hospital will host the eighth annual Women's Fair at Washington County Fair Park, Hwy 45 and Pleasant Valley Road, on Saturday, March 20 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Women's Fair, A Celebration of Mind, Body and Spirit, will inspire women of all ages to take time out for themselves to enhance their health and wellness.

The Women's Fair features shopping and dining opportunities, vendor booths, seminars and demonstrations on wellness and lifestyle topics. New this year, the "Wellness Oasis" will include chair massages, health and wellness information, "Ask the Doctor" sessions and interactive health displays. Learn more and register online.


Mini Medical School Focuses on Women's Health

Women’s health is the topic for Washington County’s first Mini Medical School Program at the University of Wisconsin-Washington County. The four part educational series seeks to educate the general public and prospective medical students about current female health issues, trends in health care for women and research.

Experts from Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin will be your academic instructors beginning in February. Classes are each Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 pm. View all the topics.

 


Cancer Annual Report

Our 2009 annual report for the Alyce and Elmore Kraemer Cancer Care Center of St. Joseph’s Hospital describes data from 2008. The report highlights the services of our Cancer Care Center and gives a statistical overview of newly diagnosed cases.

 Comparisons to state and national statistics are included where available. You will also find a report from one of our physicians on colorectal cancer survival rates at the Alyce and Elmore Kraemer Cancer Care Center.

 


Where to go for H1N1 Flu Information

St. Joseph’s Hospital is continuing to monitor the H1N1 influenza situation. If you suspect you may have the flu, please stay home and call your primary care physician. Do not come to the hospital or emergency department unless you believe you have an emergency. If you have flu-like symptoms and need a primary care physician, please consider a West Bend Clinic physician.

23rd Annual Love Light Tree

Residents of the community joined St. Joseph's hospital staff to pay tribute to loved ones during the 23rd Annual Love Light Tree celebration. See the complete list of donors. Proceeds from the Love Light Tree allow Partners to fund two annual scholarships and support St. Joseph’s Hospital programs and services like The Kathy Hospice and the Women’s Breast Care Program.

 


Medical College of Wisconsin Cardiologists Offer Greater Local Access to Heart Care

Washington County area residents will have increased access to state-of-the-art heart care through the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Cardiology Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

With the addition of a fourth cardiologist at the clinic Sept. 15, Medical College cardiologists will provide a full-time presence in the community for interventional cardiology, general cardiology and electrophysiology services. Patients also have direct access when needed to cardiac services at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, an academic medical center.
